Negative Thoughts - Can They Be Controlled? By Hafsa Amjad

Having low self-esteem may be damaging, because having too many negative thoughts can be very harmful for your mental condition. Negative thoughts can affect anyone, anywhere and any time. That's but natural, and this is not where the real problem lies. The problem is in not knowing the ways to beat them. They might upset you and make you think badly even for your own family; however, if you start ignoring them, you will soon make them fade away. I am suggesting here a few important ways to develop positive emotions and avoid negative thoughts.
Writing down whatever comes to your mind is a good way to release negative emotions. Remember, negative thinking always clouds your judgment; it makes you skeptical to the people around and all sorts of affairs you are going through. Therefore, it is a bad phenomenon you must shrink yourself away. Whenever in the grip of such condition, experts would advise you to jot down all what's bothering you making you exhibit negative attitude.
Studies show that if you breathe properly during any of such stressful conditions, it refreshes your mind.
In addition, try to smile in front of a mirror, especially when you get up in the morning. Never underestimate the power of a smile; I will suggest you to make funny faces that even mirror won't be able to control its laugh. Laughter therapy is very important as it brightens your spirit and mood.
Release your fear as it only creates limitation; instead, face it by allowing yourself to blossom without control in order to enjoy a degree of freedom. Also, remind yourself of the best moments of your life, it will certainly enlighten your soul causing a blush on your cheeks.
Next, create a list of things you like about yourself. I know it can be difficult, especially when you are having bad self-image, but it's a sure remedy to help you lift your self up.
Now try to remember how many people admire you and tell you that how special you are for them; it will definitely make you feel happier and more confident.
Equally important is your involvement in the society. Socialize with as many souls as possible to keep you engaged. Staying busy keeps negative thoughts at a distance, whereas being alone and free you will be at the mercy of hopelessness. So, try to keep your mind alarmed as negative thoughts can make you an easy prey any fatal moment.
Keep in mind, you have to get your life straight by practicing such things as mentioned all by yourself, for no one else would do it for you. Therefore, try to let go of these negative emotions and move on. Life is the only chance we have; try to utilize it in a good way.
