Should I Go On A College Spring Break Trip?
If You're Even Asking, You MUST READ THIS NOW!

by Joe DePalma

** Two college students are packing for a spring break trip…

Student #1: Hey, do you have everything you need?

Student #2: Well, let's see. I've got my bathing suit, sunglasses, suntan lotion, and some money.

Student #1: What about a towel? Oh who cares, I guess it doesn't matter what we bring just as long as we go. Let's GO!
**********************************************

Spring break is one glorious week of completely wild college student fun at its finest. A single week in March is revered by college students everywhere who want to indulge in total college time adventures and have irresponsibly constructive fun because they are young and they can.

Going on a college spring break trip should be a mandatory part of the college curriculum, just like paying tuition and taking classes. The importance of experiencing the freedom and excitement of a spring break vacation is absolutely essential to the proper development of a well-rounded college mind. A college spring break trip is the pinnacle of college exuberance for one major reason. Every college student lives with an invisible time clock tied around his or her neck. This time clock secretly counts down the days until each student is too old to have completely unadulterated, college-age fun. That is what is meant by “irresponsibly constructive fun.” Every college student has a limited number of days in their lifetime when they can have “College Spring Break” type fun, which is actually constructive for a well-rounded student.

Considering your invisible time clock is tic-tic-tickin' away, what would stop you from enjoying a carefree college spring break trip?

Should I Go On A College Spring Break Trip?
The Two Main Excuses Students Use For NOT Going On A Spring Break

Excuse #1: Spring Break Vacations Cost Too Much!

When making your decision of whether or not to take a college spring break trip, never open the door for a future regret to sneak in. The most popular reason students use for not going on a spring break trip is that they are too expensive. If the cost of the trip is the main reason why you will not go on a spring break getaway, just ask yourself, “When I'm 40 years old, am I going to remember the few hundred dollars I saved by not going on spring break, or will I remember the freedom, the adventure, and the exhilaration of being young and out in the unsupervised world with my friends?”

Excuse #2: I'm Not Allowed To Go On A Spring Break Vacation!

Nobody should ever tell you that you cannot go on a college spring break trip if you have the money and want to go. People who let others make their decisions for them end up lying on a shrink's couch for years saying, “I just feel so unsatisfied with my life.” Do yourself a favor: grab your life by the butt, toss it up in the air, and kick it to your ideal spring break hot spot. And if it upsets someone in your life, make them read this following message, “Why don't you want me to experience this adventure while the window of possibility is open?” If they say it is a safety issue, tell them you are as safe on a college spring break trip as you are driving 70 M.P.H. down your local interstate highway. Of course spring break is not the safest time in a student's life, but finding adventure and remaining totally safe at the same time usually does not happen. Remember to make the same smart choices you do on a regular basis while you are on spring break and you should be okay. It is mostly when students turn into different people when they go away on spring break that they run into trouble. Make smart choices and most often you will end up fine.

Your invisible time clock is ticking away right now. You have three choices in front of you:

1) Cut loose, find a beach and yell, “I'm going on spring break!”

2) Skip spring break and spend the rest of your life wondering how great it might have been.

3) Look ridiculous by attempting to recapture your lost spring break experiences after your invisible time clock has expired.

* Should I Go On A College Spring Break Trip:
ACTION STEP *

Write down your two dream spring break destinations. Then, write down the main reason as to why you can't or won't enjoy that spring break trip. Lastly, re-read your reasons as to why you can't or won't enjoy your dream spring break vacation, and then record how well those reasons may hold up in ten years. Will you feel regretful for allowing those reasons to stop you? Will you wish you could go back and make different choices about missing your college spring break vacations? This exercise will help you look past your current state of mind and allow you to make positive choices from the future.
